The Americans With Disabilities Act has no doubt change the way we live for the better. People with disabilities or uses wheelchairs can go outside their house and get into sidewalks, roads and stores just like everyone else.

The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) is a non-profit trade organization that promotes the buying of products from an NMEDA-qualified dealer . NMEDA is the only association that promotes safe driving and equipment for people with disabilities. Members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. NMEDA dealers are the ones who sell accessible vans and vehicle modifications for the disabled.

NMEDA also helps people with disabilities by offering services and solutions that can change their lives for the better.  They can help expand opportunities for people with a variety of disabilities to drive or to be transported in vehicles that have been modified with different types of mobility equipment.

The NMEDA QAP or NMEDA Quality Assurance Program is a recognized accreditation program that promotes quality, safety, and reliability within the National Mobility Equipment Dealer  industry. All of the NMEDA Quality Assurance Program dealers offer twenty four hour local emergency assistance, on site sales and support.  They also offer in person, individual evaluations. Purchasing a vehicle from online or through someone who is not a member of the National Mobility Equipment Dealer Assocation, will not guarantee you the level of quality service you will receive from a dealer who is part of this assocation.
