During the ancient times, bathing was not taken as a part of any physical fitness of physical hygiene thing. It was only in 500 BC that the heading Roman Empire made a law making it mandatory for all citizens to always take a bath and make it a necessity to attend to their hygiene. It was in a public place somewhere in Rome that people used marble for making bathtubs, and they even bathe there. A few years more later, still some citizens decide to built bath rooms and bathtubs that were sized like swimming pools and basically filled up an entire room.
